Marketing Works are Auckland's leading signage, printing, design and marketing company. 

Their vehicles are used to carry out signage and design jobs across Auckland for large corporate companies.

THE CHALLENGE

Businesses with a fleet, small or large, will see increased productivity by using telematics to support their operations. Marcus East, Director at Marketing Works realised the potential in implementing an end-to-end telematics system to manage their fleet vehicles. From keeping their staff safe, to ensuring their client's jobs are being fulfilled efficiently to controlling vehicle running costs.   

Like most businesses of this nature, client queries are all part and parcel of time-based billing.  Occasionally clients make enquiries around job costing and Marketing Works needed to be able to accurately validate how long jobs were taking to be completed.  There was no room for human error, so a system was needed to record and report on time spent on jobs for client invoicing. 

THE SOLUTION

Their Clients are happy to know they are invoiced using time-based vehicle reports, it provides a level of professionalism and accuracy, clients can take comfort in knowing that every job is recorded down to the minute, with low risk of error.

Staff time-sheets were becoming  time-consuming  to chase, the ArmadaGPS time-based reports are also used for staff wages as well as client invoicing.  

Communication was another vital component for streamlining the fleet.  For job dispatch to run smoothly they needed a way to pinpoint the nearest vehicle and request a new job, or collect some materials, saving both time and money by optimising each journey and faster job turn-around times. 

Being able to pinpoint the vehicles 24/7, using real-time tracking enables the team to keep a close eye on the fleet and drivers. As a result, the drivers are accountable for their own safety and keep their speed in check.   

As well as safety, the team know where all the vehicles are, all of the time, so vehicles don't end up being used after hours or at the weekends, which is vital to keeping the vehicle running costs down. 

Vehicle maintenance is proactively managed using ArmadaGPS as all vehicles are set up with email alerts so that if a battery is running low or a vehicle check-up is due the right person receives the email or text alert, nothing is left to guesswork. Any downtime can be factored in and managed to keep it down to an absolute minimum.
